Nathan Fielder's Elizabeth Holmes Documentary

A24 releases teaser for Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s secret Elizabeth Holmes documentary

A24 has released a teaser trailer for You Can See Everything, a documentary from Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim about Elizabeth Holmes, after the film’s surprise premiere as Telluride’s secret screening on September 6, 2026.

TL;DR

  • A24 confirmed the long-rumoured Fielder project is You Can See Everything, co-directed with Lance Oppenheim.
  • The film follows Holmes over three years, starting thirty-four days before she reported to federal prison in 2023.
  • It premiered as Telluride’s secret screening on Sunday and opens in US theatres in October.
  • No UK release date has been confirmed; Holmes’ story previously reached British audiences through Disney+’s The Dropout.

What “You Can See Everything” is about

Fielder, the writer and director behind The Rehearsal and Nathan For You, spent more than a year visiting Holmes in prison, according to reporting ahead of Sunday’s reveal. The project turned out to be considerably larger than those visits suggested.

Per A24’s official synopsis, Holmes invited a “skeptical film crew” to document her life thirty-four days before she began serving her sentence for defrauding Theranos investors. What started as a short profile grew into a three-year production. Holmes is serving an eleven-year sentence at a federal prison in Bryan, Texas, after being convicted of investor fraud tied to Theranos’s blood-testing claims.

How Fielder and Oppenheim kept the project secret

Oppenheim, known for Some Kind of Heaven and the HBO series Ren Faire, joined Fielder as co-director. A24 would not confirm the identity of Telluride’s secret screening until the film had actually started, according to IndieWire, which said the studio asked reporters to hold the story until the lights went down. The film runs longer than two hours, IndieWire reported, and phones were collected from every attendee before the screening began.

What the teaser reveals

The seventy-one-second teaser leans into an uneasy back-and-forth between Fielder and his subject. “I’m not that person. I can promise you that,” Holmes says at one point, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Elsewhere in the clip, Fielder presses her on whether she is “being real,” a moment Variety described as the two “locking eyes intensely, sizing each other up.”

A24 has set the film for a US theatrical release in October, though it has not announced an exact date.

UK release still to be confirmed

You Can See Everything does not yet have a UK release date, distributor, or BBFC rating. Holmes’ story has reached UK audiences before, however: The Dropout, the Hulu miniseries starring Amanda Seyfried as Holmes, launched on Disney+ in the UK on 3 March, with British actors Stephen Fry and Naveen Andrews among its cast. Whether You Can See Everything follows a similar streaming path in the UK, or gets a theatrical run first, has not been addressed by A24.
