Hazbin Hotel gets a fifth and final season at Prime Video
Prime Video confirmed on 25 April 2026 that Hazbin Hotel, creator Vivienne Medrano‘s adult-animated musical comedy, will return for a fifth and concluding season — bringing Charlie Morningstar’s hellish redemption mission to a planned close.
TL;DR
- Prime Video announced Season 5 as the show’s final chapter at LVL UP Expo in Las Vegas on 25 April 2026.
- Creator Vivienne Medrano will direct all episodes; the season premiere date is still to be confirmed.
- Season 5 will stream in more than 240 countries and territories, including the UK on Prime Video.
- Also announced: Helluva Boss Season 3 (15 episodes) arrives on Prime Video from autumn 2026.
The renewal was unveiled during a packed panel at LVL UP Expo in Las Vegas — the same event at which Medrano’s SpindleHorse studio has previously dropped major series milestones. The streamer confirmed Season 5 will be available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Creator’s vision reaches its planned conclusion
Medrano serves as executive producer and has directed all episodes of the series. In a statement released alongside the announcement, she said the series is heading toward an “epic conclusion” she has always intended.
“I’m so thankful for how Prime Video has championed our vision at SpindleHorse, and I’m grateful for their partnership and commitment to bringing Hazbin Hotel to its epic conclusion.”
— Vivienne Medrano, Creator & Executive Producer, Amazon MGM Studios press release, 25 April 2026
Unlike many creators who discover in the trades that their shows are not being picked up, Medrano will get to finish her series on her own terms. The decision to end at Season 5 reflects an intentional story arc rather than a cancellation.
What is Hazbin Hotel about?
Hazbin Hotel is based on Medrano’s popular animated YouTube pilot, released in 2019, which gained over 120 million views and built a devoted worldwide fan base.
The show follows Charlie Morningstar, the princess of Hell, as she opens a hotel to pursue her seemingly impossible goal of rehabilitating demons to peacefully reduce overpopulation in her kingdom. Erika Henningsen stars as Charlie, with Stephanie Beatriz as Charlie’s hotel manager and girlfriend Vaggie, and Amir Talai as the powerful entity known as the Radio Demon.

The series is produced by Oscar- and Emmy-winning A24 alongside Fox Entertainment’s Emmy-winning animation studio Bento Box Entertainment. Dana Tafoya-Cameron serves as executive producer alongside Medrano.
The Hellaverse keeps expanding
The Season 5 announcement was not the only major news from the LVL UP panel. The first half of the 15-episode third season of Helluva Boss — the companion series set in the same Hellaverse universe — is expected to arrive on Prime Video in autumn 2026, with the second half following in 2027 after a mid-season hiatus.
In 2025, the Hazbin Hotel universe expanded beyond the screen with Hazbin Hotel: Live on Broadway, a concert event hosted by series lead Erika Henningsen at New York’s historic Majestic Theatre on 20 October, tied to the Season 2 premiere. That special is now available to stream on Prime Video.
“Vivienne Medrano and her team have built an extraordinary world that has captivated fans around the globe, and we’re thrilled to give the series — and its passionate community — a fitting, unforgettable final chapter.”
— Melissa Wolfe, Head of Animation, Amazon MGM Studios, Deadline, 25 April 2026
UK streaming details
Platform: Prime Video UK — included with an Amazon Prime membership (£8.99/month or £95/year as of 2026). Seasons 1 and 2 are available to stream in the UK now. BBFC classification: Episodes from Season 1 are rated 18 by the British Board of Film Classification, reflecting strong language, sexual content, and scenes of violence. Season 5 has no confirmed UK premiere date yet.
British subscribers can access the full existing run of Hazbin Hotel via Prime Video today, ahead of Season 3’s still-unannounced release window.
What this means for fans
The confirmation of a final season — rather than an abrupt cancellation — is significant for a show that grew from a grassroots YouTube pilot into a flagship Prime Video original. Seasons 3 and 4 were ordered back in July 2024, meaning the full five-season arc was effectively greenlit well in advance.
