Apple TV+ unveils first Neuromancer trailer, confirms 22 January premiere

Apple TV+ released the first full trailer for its adaptation of William Gibson’s Neuromancer on Saturday at San Diego Comic-Con, confirming that the ten-episode cyberpunk series will premiere on 22 January 2027 with its first two episodes.

TL;DR

  • Apple TV+ dropped the first proper Neuromancer trailer at SDCC on Saturday.
  • The series stars Callum Turner as hacker Case and Briana Middleton as Molly.
  • The first two episodes premiere 22 January, with weekly episodes running through 19 March.
  • UK subscribers will need an Apple TV+ subscription, now priced at £9.99 a month.

What the trailer shows

The footage follows Case, a burnt-out hacker recruited into a heist against a shadowy corporate dynasty alongside his partner Molly, a razor-wielding assassin with mirrored eyes. According to Dark Horizons, the trailer also offers a glimpse of Chatsubo, the expat bar from Gibson’s novel that has never before appeared on screen.

Callum Turner leads the cast as Case, with Briana Middleton playing Molly. Mark Strong appears as the mercenary Armitage, alongside Peter Sarsgaard, Joseph Lee, Clémence Poésy and Emma Laird, according to TheWrap.

Background on the adaptation

Apple TV+ ordered the series in February 2024, with Graham Roland serving as showrunner and J. D. Dillard directing the pilot. Gibson’s 1984 novel is widely credited with originating the cyberpunk genre and coining the term “cyberspace,” and Gibson himself has served as an executive producer on the show, according to MovieWeb.

Previous attempts to bring the “unfilmable” novel to screen — including a planned film from Deadpool director Tim Miller — stalled for decades before this adaptation moved forward.
