The woman behind that question is Kylie Jenner, his girlfriend and the founder of Kylie Cosmetics. The pair are not engaged, despite constant speculation. Jenner has stayed in the spotlight lately, including her recent Victoria’s Secret runway debut.
Reports this year have painted conflicting pictures. In April, a source told the Daily Mail that Chalamet has talked about proposing but Jenner is not ready. In August, insiders said the couple were happy as they are.
A newer claim alleges Jenner is now pressing Chalamet for a wedding date because she worries sister Kendall Jenner could marry first. That claim could not be independently verified, and it contradicts the earlier reporting.

Chalamet publicly thanked Jenner during his acceptance speech at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, according to Hola. She also sat by his side at this year’s Oscars.
The appearances fuelled engagement talk through awards season. None of it was confirmed by the couple.
Jenner reportedly told Chalamet that marriage can make things “go downhill”
The Daily Mail’s April source claimed Jenner told Chalamet, “When couples get married things usually start to go downhill.” The same source said Chalamet has asked Kris Jenner and Kendall Jenner how to change her mind.
A second source told the outlet that Jenner’s family would want her married soon. Neither Jenner nor Chalamet has been quoted confirming any of this.
Insiders said in August the couple had no plans to rush an engagement
A separate insider told People on August 7 that the couple “love how their relationship is,” as reported by Hola.
An August 14 IBTimes UK report said an insider claimed the pair admired how Tom Holland and Zendaya married privately. The same report alleged Kris Jenner wants any wedding televised, while the couple want no cameras.
Jenner reportedly encouraged Kendall to date Jacob Elordi
A Daily Mail source said Jenner met Jacob Elordi often during awards season, when he was nominated for Frankenstein and Chalamet for Marty Supreme. She then reportedly told Kendall to date him.
The same source claimed Jenner wanted double dates with Chalamet. People reported the two couples recently went away together. Other reports say Kendall and Elordi have been dating since February.
The newer claim says that closeness has turned competitive, with Jenner fearing Kendall will reach the altar first. It could not be verified, and it conflicts with reports that Jenner herself has been holding off.
Jenner described her priorities for the end of her twenties
Marie Claire UK reported a source saying the couple are aligned on marriage and children and have talked about getting engaged this year. The same source said they are not rushing.
Jenner has two children with Scott. Chalamet told Vogue in 2025 that fatherhood could be on his radar.
