Bullock and Kidman were joined on the carpet by Bier, along with co-stars Joey King, Maisie Williams, Xolo Maridueña and Solly McLeod, according to a photo gallery published by Deadline. Other attendees included actor Josh Holloway and reality-television personalities Brooks Nader, Grace Ann Nader, Cely Vásquez and Katie Maloney, the outlet reported.

The event marked one of the first public appearances by the full principal cast since production wrapped.

A sequel three decades in the making

Practical Magic 2 follows the 1998 film Practical Magic, which starred Bullock and Kidman as witch sisters Sally and Gillian Owens and was based on Alice Hoffman’s 1995 novel, according to Wikipedia. Bier directs the new film from a screenplay by Akiva Goldsman and Georgia Pritchett, adapted from Hoffman’s 2021 novel The Book of Magic.

Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest return as Aunts Franny and Jet, while King, Williams, Xolo Maridueña, Lee Pace and McLeod join the cast in new roles. Principal photography began in July 2025 at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Hertfordshire, England.

UK release date and filming ties

Practical Magic 2 opens in UK and Irish cinemas on September 11 — the same day as its U.S. release — distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, according to The Arts Shelf. The production also has a direct UK footprint: filming took place at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, one of Britain’s largest film studio complexes.

The film had not received an official BBFC classification as of this article’s publication. In the United States, the Motion Picture Association awarded it a PG-13 rating for “some violent content, suggestive material and brief strong language,” according to Bloody Disgusting.

Cast reactions ahead of release

Kidman told a CinemaCon 2026 audience earlier this year, “The witches are back!” according to a report from ODEON. Maridueña has also spoken about the film, telling People he hopes audiences will see it together, whether on a family outing or a night out with friends.
