Brad Pitt returns as Cliff Booth in first full trailer for Fincher’s Tarantino sequel

Netflix released the first full trailer on Monday for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth, bringing Brad Pitt back as the stuntman-turned-fixer in 1977 Hollywood before its IMAX debut on 25 November.

What the Cliff Booth trailer shows

So, Cliff has traded stunt work for something shadier. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the trailer shows him working as a fixer, bartender and projectionist.

Netflix’s official description opens with “Murder, blackmail, theft, extortion” and presents it as an ordinary Hollywood summer. It is 1977, eight years after Cliff’s run-in with the Manson family in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Rick Dalton still gets a mention, and not a flattering one. Asked why he stopped doubling for him, Cliff says, “Rick got too fat for me to double him anymore.”

Cast and crew for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth

David Fincher directs a cast led by Pitt, who is joined by Timothy Olyphant, reprising James Stacy, according to Variety. Scott Caan, Elizabeth Debicki, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Carla Gugino, Holt McCallany and JB Tadena play new characters. Leonardo DiCaprio does not return.

The screenplay comes from Quentin Tarantino, who handed the directing over. He said in an August 2025 podcast interview that the script left him unenthused as a director because it retraced familiar ground, as Variety noted.

Netflix has other sequels in motion too. Grown Ups 3 began filming in New Jersey in August.

UK release date, IMAX run and Netflix price

The film opens in IMAX cinemas globally on 25 November for two weeks, then lands on Netflix on 23 December. UK viewers who wait for the stream will pay £7.99 a month for Standard with adverts or £13.99 ad-free, according to Yahoo Finance UK. Premium is £20.99 after Netflix’s latest price rise.
