- Goldstein, an Emmy winner for Ted Lasso, co-wrote Netflix’s Office Romance and has said he wrote it for Lopez.
- In June, Lopez told Today “Not dating,” and Goldstein replied “Correct.” Neither has confirmed the new report.
Jennifer Lopez did not hold back when Andy Cohen asked about her on-screen kisses on Watch What Happens Live. She named her Office Romance co-star Brett Goldstein the “best kisser” she had worked with.
That remark added to months of speculation. Now, a source tells Page Six that the two are dating, though things are “casual.”
Goldstein, an Emmy winner for Ted Lasso, co-wrote the Netflix rom-com with Joe Kelly. He has said Lopez was the only person he had in mind for the lead.
The claim follows a public denial. The pair told Today in June that they were not a couple, and neither has addressed the new report.
Here’s everything to know about Brett Goldstein, Jennifer Lopez’s reported casual date, and how the rumors built.
Goldstein wrote Office Romance with Lopez as “the only person on the list”
Goldstein co-wrote Office Romance with Joe Kelly, who was also on the Ted Lasso writing team. Deadline reported that Lopez and Goldstein would star in the Netflix film.
Goldstein later said Lopez was “the only person on the list” for the female lead, according to Yahoo. In the film, Lopez plays Jackie Cruz and Goldstein plays Daniel Blanchflower.
The project is Lopez’s third feature for Netflix, after The Mother in 2023 and Atlas in 2024.
Before production began, the two attended a Broadway performance of Oh Mary! in March 2025, Yahoo reported. Lopez had filed for divorce from Ben Affleck the previous year.
Lopez called Goldstein her “best kisser” on Watch What Happens Live
Cohen’s show gave the rumors their first big push. Lopez said Goldstein was the best on-screen kiss of her career, a comment that spread quickly online.
She also said she is always linked romantically to whoever she works with. The remark came as the pair prepared for the film’s press tour.
They walked the London red carpet two days before the film hit Netflix
The UK premiere took place at BFI Southbank on 3 June, according to Netflix’s Tudum schedule. Office Romance began streaming on Netflix on 5 June.
Lopez and Goldstein had already appeared together at the Los Angeles world premiere on 26 May and the New York fan premiere on 2 June.

They answered “Not dating” on Today in June
During the press run, Today host Savannah Guthrie asked directly whether the co-stars were dating in real life. “Not dating,” Lopez said, per Page Six. “Correct,” Goldstein added.
A source says they left a Los Angeles party together in October
According to Page Six, Lopez, 57, arrived at a talent manager’s party in Los Angeles with her longtime manager, Benny Medina. She reportedly left with Goldstein, 46.
The source described their relationship as “casual.” Another report, published a day earlier, claimed the romance had already fizzled, according to Yahoo Entertainment.
The Independent contacted representatives for both stars. Neither Lopez nor Goldstein has publicly confirmed a romance.
During the press tour, Goldstein explained why the rumors follow her. “I think if you stand near her, that’s what happens,” he said in The Independent’s report.
