Netflix Confirms Grown Ups 3 With Adam Sandler and the Original Gang Returning
Netflix officially confirmed Grown Ups 3 is in development during its Upfront presentation on 13 May 2026 in New York City. After more than a decade of fan demands, cast teases, and a whole lot of “keep hope alive” energy, it’s actually happening.

Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, and Rob Schneider are all set to return — reuniting the core five for the first time since 2013. Netflix did not officially confirm casting beyond Sandler himself, but according to Variety, all five are expected back.

Kyle Newacheck — who helmed Murder Mystery and Happy Gilmore 2 — is directing. Sandler is co-writing the script with longtime collaborator Tim Herlihy, and the two will also produce alongside Jackie Sandler, Jack Giarraputo, Kevin Grady, and Judit Maull.
Plot details are being kept firmly under wraps. The working rumor, per What’s on Netflix, involves Lenny inheriting his childhood summer camp — which would be a solid upgrade from standing around a New England lake for two hours.
The original Grown Ups pulled in roughly $272 million worldwide when it released in summer 2010, with Grown Ups 2 not far behind at $247 million in 2013. Both were Sony theatrical releases. This one belongs to Netflix, where Sandler has been the streamer’s most reliable draw for over a decade. The greenlight came on the back of Happy Gilmore 2, which became one of Netflix’s biggest releases of 2025 and effectively threw the door open for more legacy sequels.
For UK fans, Grown Ups 3 will land as a Netflix Original — available on Netflix UK (from £4.99/month) the same day as everywhere else, no theatrical run required. No release date has been confirmed yet, but production is reportedly eyeing a summer 2026 start, with a late 2027 premiere looking likely.
It’s worth noting that the streaming sequel train shows no signs of slowing down — Avatar: Fire and Ash just landed a Disney+ date too. And while we wait on Grown Ups 3, HBO has already renewed their Harry Potter series for a second season before the first has even aired. Nostalgia is officially a growth industry.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about Grown Ups 3 as the project develops.
