Fall 2: Deadpoint Trailer Shows Climbers Battling Death on Thailand’s Most Dangerous Trail
Lionsgate has released the official trailer for Fall 2: Deadpoint, and it’s exactly what fans of the original survival thriller needed. Now, the Spierig Brothers take the franchise to Thailand, where two women find themselves stranded on one of the world’s most treacherous mountain ledges.
The sequel follows Harriet Slater (Tarot) as Jax Hunter, still grieving her sister’s death from the first film. Arsema Thomas (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story) plays Luce, her sister’s fearless friend. When the pair attempt to honor Shiloh’s memory by tackling the infamous Mount Kwan plank walk, a sudden rockslide leaves them clinging to a narrow platform 3,000 feet above the ground.
The Setting
The fictional Mount Kwan’s narrow planked walkway is based on the real Huashan Plank Trail in Shaanxi, China, often touted as one of the world’s most dangerous hikes. The visual effects work, handled by Koala FX, supports the film’s large-scale survival sequences and vertigo-inducing heights.
Fall 2: Deadpoint is set to be released in the United States on September 2, 2026. The film earned a PG-13 rating for strong language, violent content, bloody images, and drug material. Directed by Michael and Peter Spierig (Jigsaw, Predestination), the sequel expands on the original’s formula of turning fear of heights into pure adrenaline.
The first Fall became a surprise box office hit despite its modest budget, proving there’s an audience for vertigo-inducing survival horror that doesn’t rely on gore — just genuine terror of falling. This sequel promises even higher stakes, even tighter spaces, and even fewer escape routes.
