Dunham returns as Hannah Horvath, Williams as Marnie Michaels, Kirke as Jessa Johansson and Mamet as Shoshanna Shapiro. Actor Andrew Rannells also reprises his role as Elijah Krantz.
Executive producer Judd Apatow returns through Apatow Productions, alongside Dunham and Good Thing Going’s Ilene S. Landress and Michael P. Cohen.

Who is missing from the Girls revival
Two names from the original run are absent from HBO’s press release: Driver and co-showrunner Jenni Konner, according to Variety.
Konner is not involved in the revival, and she and Dunham announced in 2018 that they were splitting as producing partners.
Dunham has said she has not spoken to Driver since the series wrapped, according to AOL.
Why the Girls revival matters now
The order reverses HBO’s earlier stance. In 2022, the network said it had no plans to bring the series back. That is according to the Associated Press.

Girls revival UK release date and where to watch
No UK release date or platform has been confirmed for the Girls revival. HBO has not set a premiere date anywhere.
HBO Max launched in the UK and Ireland on 26 March 2026, according to Advanced Television. Warner Bros. Discovery said plans start at £4.99 a month.
