Kristen Stewart-led Vampire Thriller “Flesh Of The Gods” Has Begun Filming

Kristen Stewart Returns to Vampires in A24’s Flesh of the Gods, Now Filming

Production has officially kicked off on Flesh of the Gods, the ’80s-set vampire thriller starring Kristen Stewart and Wagner Moura (Narcos), with filming underway in the Canary Islands, Spain. The second half of the shoot is scheduled for Cologne, Germany. A long time coming — the project was first announced back in May 2024 and spent a chunk of late 2025 still hunting for financing. It’s shooting now. We’ll take it.

The cast has also rounded out in a big way. Esmé Creed-Miles (Sense and Sensibility), Roland Møller (Citadel), and Alba Baptista (Voltron) have newly joined the production, with Creed-Miles stepping into the role previously held by Elizabeth Olsen. UK horror fans will want to pay attention to Creed-Miles in particular — the British actress recently wrapped A Head Full of Ghosts opposite Rebecca Hall and Fiona Dourif for Lionsgate, and she’s shaping up to be one of the most interesting genre performers working right now.

Flesh of the Gods

Stewart and Moura play Raoul and Alex, a married couple in glittering ’80s Los Angeles who descend each evening from their luxury skyscraper condo and head into an electric nighttime realm. When they cross paths with the mysterious and enigmatic Nameless and her hard-partying cabal, the two are seduced into a glamorous, surrealistic world of hedonism, thrills and violence.

Directing is Panos Cosmatos, whose Mandy remains one of the most gloriously unhinged genre films of the past decade. The screenplay comes from Andrew Kevin Walker, based on a story by Cosmatos and Walker — Walker’s credits include Se7en, The Killer, and Sleepy Hollow. As Deadline confirmed, Moura takes over the lead role from Oscar Isaac, who exited due to a scheduling conflict, coming in fresh off his first Academy Award nomination for The Secret Agent.

A24 has been on quite the genre run lately — from The Death of Robin Hood to their upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre reimagining — and Flesh of the Gods looks like one of the wilder swings in that lineup. A24 holds domestic rights to the film, while XYZ Films is handling international sales at the Cannes market. According to Fangoria, Flesh of the Gods has not set a release date — for the US, UK, or anywhere else. No theatrical window, no streaming home, no BBFC rating confirmed yet.

We’ll keep you posted on updates about Flesh of the Gods as the project develops.
