Pluribus season 2 starts filming in Albuquerque, a year after season 1
Apple TV’s Pluribus began filming season two in Albuquerque on October 31, according to Dark Horizons, nearly a year after season one premiered and with no release date set.
TL;DR
- Season two of Pluribus started shooting in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on October 31.
- Apple has not announced a premiere date or release window.
- The two main survivors are expected to return, but no cast list is official.
- In the UK, the show streams on Apple TV, priced at £9.99 a month per T3.
Filming starts in Albuquerque
Production List had set October 31 as the start date, as 9to5Mac reported the day before. Dark Horizons said shooting began on that date, almost a year after season one aired.
Series creator Vince Gilligan said in September that the writers had mapped out the whole season and finished the first two scripts, according to 9to5Mac. He also pointed to a late October or early November start.
Albuquerque is where Gilligan made Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. It is also where Pluribus is set.
What season two picks up
Season one follows romance novelist Carol Sturka, played by Rhea Seehorn. She is one of 13 people immune to the Joining, an alien virus that turned the rest of humanity into a content hive mind.
The finale left Carol weighing whether to help Manousos, another immune survivor, plan against the hive mind. Actors Karolina Wydra (Zosia) and Carlos-Manuel Vesga (Manousos) are expected back. Apple has yet to publish a season two cast list, so those returns remain unconfirmed.
Release date and where to watch in the UK
Apple has not announced a premiere date or release window, per 9to5Mac. With cameras only now rolling, a 2027 debut looks the likeliest window.
Coming soon to Apple TV.
Season one streams on Apple TV in the UK. T3 listed the standard price at £9.99 a month during last year’s Black Friday promotion, so check Apple for current pricing.
Apple’s sci-fi slate is moving elsewhere too. Silo season 3 has a trailer, and over at FX, Alien: Earth season 2 is shooting at Pinewood Studios.
