VisionQuest teaser introduces Jocasta ahead of 14 October Disney+ debut

Marvel Television has released a new VisionQuest teaser that gives T’Nia Miller‘s Jocasta her first look opposite Paul Bettany‘s Vision, ahead of the Disney+ series’ 14 October premiere.

TL;DR

  • The new VisionQuest teaser shows Jocasta facing Vision for the first time.
  • Jocasta makes her MCU debut, played by Miller.
  • The eight-episode series starts 14 October on Disney+ with two episodes.
  • UK plans start at £5.99 a month.

Jocasta gets her first look in the new teaser

Gizmodo reported the promo on 27 September. Until now, the marketing has focused on the AI personas rattling around in Vision’s head, James Spader‘s Ultron included. This spot puts a physical rival in front of him.

Jim Shooter and George Pérez created Jocasta in Avengers #162 in 1977. In the comics, Ultron built her as a bride, using the Wasp’s brain patterns as a template. Of course, in this family, nothing is ever a simple reunion.

What Marvel has not confirmed

The teaser shows Jocasta facing Vision, but Marvel’s synopsis does not mention her. That synopsis, published with the D23 trailer announcement, describes Vision hiding out and consulting AI personas. A bounty then puts him on the run with a boy named Thomas Shepard.

Gizmodo notes the show still has to explain how Jocasta exists and who she is modelled on. In the MCU, Tony Stark and Bruce Banner built Ultron, so the comic origin may not carry over. Bettany said at D23 that Vision has “rather inconveniently died several times,” so nothing is off the table.

How to watch VisionQuest in the UK

VisionQuest debuts on 14 October with two episodes, then moves to a weekly schedule. According to Disney+ UK, plans currently cost £5.99 a month for Standard with Ads, £9.99 for Standard and £14.99 for Premium.

The cast leans British too. Bettany, Miller and Diane Morgan (Cunk on Earth) are all on the call sheet, and the series filmed in London.

We’ll keep you posted on updates about VisionQuest as the series develops.
