Amita Rao Wraps Filming on AI Horror-Comedy See Bot Run
Production has wrapped on See Bot Run, a horror-comedy mockumentary from Pluto Labs Films starring Adults breakout Amita Rao.
See Bot Run
The film follows the overworked and underpaid employees of a struggling tech startup on the day of a high-stakes AI product launch that could make them millions. When the company’s secretive invention begins turning against them, the staff finds itself trapped in a chaotic fight for survival — at least until the checks clear. So, yes, it is essentially The Office if the printer tried to murder everyone.

Directed by James Slaven, Rao plays Deena — an “overeager and underappreciated” intern at the startup. See Bot Run also stars Deli Boys actor Jake Prizant as the company’s CEO and The Whitest Kids U’ Know actor Sam Brown as a veteran sales rep watching the company unravel in real time. Behzad Dabu (How to Get Away with Murder, The Chi), Jordan Stafford, Max Lazerine, Annie Sullivan, Dani James, Rogue Schmidt, Zoe Agapinan, and George Elrod round out the ensemble — many of them alumni of The Second City. The indie horror space has been busy lately — Kristen Stewart recently jumped back into the genre with A24, and Fiona Dourif just joined the cast of A Head Full of Ghosts alongside Robert Downey Jr.
Writer and producer Kevin Noonan said of the project, according to Variety, that the rise of AI made the story feel even more relevant while they were making it. Director Slaven added that the horror and comedy both come from pushing a recognizable workplace reality just far enough over the edge. Hard to argue with that pitch.

Rao broke out last year on Adults, the FX comedy currently streaming on Hulu, where she plays Issa — described by Time as “loud, dramatic, and sexually liberated.” The show earned a second season renewal in October 2025. UK fans can catch Adults on Disney+ as part of the Star content offering. No BBFC certificate has been announced for See Bot Run yet, and no UK release date or distributor has been confirmed at this stage.
See Bot Run recently wrapped filming in Chicago and is currently in post-production. For more on the indie horror scene, Bloody Disgusting and Dread Central both have the full breakdown.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about See Bot Run as the project develops.
