Diesel shares update from the set

Vin Diesel posted a short clip from set on Thursday, giving fans their first proper look at the production. “I’m on set. People are grinding. Incredible crews are working,” Diesel said, according to Deadline. He also thanked fans for sticking with the franchise through years of delays.

The video showed a garage set with a black muscle car that resembles Dom Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger. Universal has not released any further plot or cast details since the clip surfaced.

Fast Forever is expected to resolve the cliffhanger from 2023’s Fast X, which ended with Dom and his son trapped by explosives set by villain Dante Reyes, played by Jason Momoa. Momoa has not been confirmed for the new film, though reporting since Fast X suggests his character remains at large in the story.

What’s still unconfirmed

No cast members have been officially announced for Fast Forever. According to World of Reel, the script is credited to Michael Lesslie, the sixth writer to take a pass at the project after several others. Reportedly, franchise regulars including Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Ludacris and Sung Kang are expected to return, though none of this has been confirmed by Universal.

UK release date confirmed

Fast Forever is scheduled to open in UK cinemas on the same date as its US release, 17 March 2028, according to UK listings site Flicks.
